Sustaining Rwanda Youth Organization (SR-YO) to host Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest in Rwanda.


The Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest is a global competition for young people organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Commission (Rio+20 Earth Summit) to be held in June 2012 in Brasil. This is an opportunity that encourages youth to express their hopes, concerns and thoughts on future of our earth by using music. The contest aim to collect musical messages from global youth exploring global solution for sustainable development.

ICOSCAD , one of the main environmental projects within SR-YO, has been voted the second best youth initiative towards energy solution in World Bank Competition –Connect For Climate 2011.

Evariste RUTEBUKA, awarded as Best Talk Presenter in the 4th International Scientific Research Conference 2011, with theme of Energy: Towards Sustainable , Green and Affordable Energy.


Ambitious and Hard-working young person, The Deputy Director of Sustaining Rwanda Youth Organization, Evariste RUTEBUKA, he received an award of Best Talk Presenter. His award handed by the Minister of Education representative Dr. Christine GASINGIRWA, in front of different honors including the Director of Research at NUR Prof.Dor.-Ing. Verdiana Grace MASANJA and The Acting Vice-Rector in charge of Academic Affairs (NUR) Prof. Herman MUSAHARA after presenting his paper entitled: Evaluation of Community Based Conservation Around Protected Areas of Rwanda, Case study of Nyungwe National Park in 4th International Scientific Research Conference.

Sustaining Rwanda Youth Organization to represent Rwandan youths in both UNEP-TUNZA generation Earth Summit in Johannesburg and conference of parties COP17 in Durban, South Africa from November. 21st to December.9th 2011.
